Chief Adrian Alberto Peralta was born and raised in San Isidro, a suburb of Buenos Aires, Argentina. He became a volunteer firefighter in the town of Garin (a community of over 30,000 residents) in 1989 when he was 17 years old.
In addition to his basic training in structural firefighting, he has had extensive advanced and specialized training in first aid, rescue operations, confined space, auto extrication, high angle rescue, Hazardous Materials, etc.
After extensive fire service in and around Buenos Aires and several promotions, in 2002 he was promoted to the rank of Chief of Department in Garin, the rank and responsibility he maintains through the present day.
He also serves as one of the Directors of the Federation of Volunteer Firefighters for the Province of Buenos Aires. In this capacity, he serves as a team leader overseeing 55 different fire departments that cover an area of 25 square miles, with a population of over 100,000 inhabitants and containing one of Argentina’s largest industrial parks with 80 multi-national industries.
